Anyway I've been playing the original Race Driver GRID on my Steam Deck and I like it a lot but the AI is crazy aggressive to the point that the only viable strategy to beat them at higher difficulty is to just aggressively bully them off the road and overtake them by any means necessary. The game doesn't care if you try to take down your opponent, Burnout style, and the AI does it to you as well.
For some reason the AI is much faster when it's driving in front of you vs behind you so the best strategy is to take the lead early and keep it.
I noticed on Le Mans races that if you pass a higher class car and keep a good pace it won't be able to pass you unless you make a really stupid mistake

I still have Highguard installed. I intended to play it just for shits and giggles but never bothered to. I found out it shut down yesterday Oh well. I guess I wouldn't be able to play it that delicious live service slop, not that I would be able to it anyway because I surely wouldn't have been able to matchmake with anyone.
