The first one will claim that you haven't heard good audio until you've heard at least a $1000 headphone paired to a $500 amp and an $1000 player playing only Hi-Res Lossless
The other maintain is that all you need is a $30 pair of headphones and a $20 player

Got a Steam Deck OLED last week and oh boy this thing is probably gonna be my main PC gaming device for the next few years, already been playing lots of games on it and I like using it way more than my laptop for anything gaming related
Finally got myself a pair of Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones and I like them so far
Build quality is top notch. I was skeptical about the sound at first but after I gave myself time to adjust I really started to like how they sound. They play loud enough out of a DSi. No need for an amp, just plug them in.
Two problems: 1) they clamp REALLY hard and it hurts my face, I need to stretch them somehow
2) the ear pads want to collect ALL of the lint and dust in the room so you have to brush them off constantly. I have cats so that's even worse for me

Yeah it's almost as if there has been a better type of player available on the optical media market for the last 20 yrs that is fully backwards compatible with DVD and offers support for a better format as well and it's very cheap too...

I am amazed by how quickly Microsoft managed to put out even the tiniest sparks of enthusiasm I had for the 3rd Halo CE rerelease they're making just by reminding me that even their gaming division are licking the boot of the Trump regime even when they're doing copyright infringement on their formerly beloved IP. Every time I look at this new Halo remake I think "wow they'll probably fuck it up again" and "wow they really went out of their way to allow Trump to use AI Master Chief for Nazi propaganda"
