I guess in some ways, this is the common sociological pattern where the descriptive eventually becomes prescriptive ¹. But damn, in sociology it takes years or decades, not a few keystrokes. 😅
¹ Example: "Oh, many women seem to like kids. I guess that means ALL women MUST have kids"
