Just a small person trying to make it through a big world. Vintage computer collector, car & motorcycle enthusiast (particularly the electric kind), electronics tinkerer, radio communications enthusiast, Anime fan, and many other interests.

I post a lot of unhinged nonsense that happens to be in my brain at any given moment, so beware.

Extremely screwed up in the gender department, so call me whatever pronouns take your fancy.

After much work, Suzi is finally back in action again! 🥰 I've given it three oil flushes so far, and there isn't any noticeable sign of coolant contamination left in the oil, so I'll probably run it on the current oil for a little while, before giving it one final change with decent quality oil.

Also, don't hold your phone and drive, kids. Particularly if your car is a manual 🙃

A little update on the Suzuki - seems like it may not be as catastrophic as I initially thought 🤞
Selamat jalan, little Suzi 😭
My idiot brother has apparently blown the head gasket on my car (or worse, cracked the head or block), as oil and coolant are mixing. I am beyond pissed off at the moment.
In better news, I finally got a message saying that my phone was ready after I sent it in for repair under warrantee nearly a month ago, so I was finally able to pick it up today. While it was kind of amusing to use a vintage Nokia and Motorola as my primary phone for a while, waiting a month to get my smartphone back was kind of ridiculous, as I do have to rely on WhatsApp and Facebook messenger a fair amount, not to mention the fact that I also need access to my banking app in order to approve online purchases and such. Anyway, I'm just glad it's finally sorted out now.

It looks like that in the next coming months, my time here at this apartment in the south coast will likely be coming to an end. The reason I've been lucky enough to stay here is because this is one of two unused apartments that my dad's current boss owns, and my dad has now decided to start a contracting business with some friends of his, and when he gives notice at the current company he works for, I'll have to move out.

Living here for over a year now has done wonders for my mental health, as it has not only given me a much-needed escape from my somewhat insane family, but it also gave me a taste of freedom and independence that for a long time, I never thought I'd experience, not to mention being able to get away from my gross hometown, so the thought of having to move back there does not fill me with joy at all.

The one upside is that if this business venture of my dad's does well, I can hopefully get stable employment there as a driver, and potentially doing electrical contract work as well. Hopefully with time, I'll be able to afford another place of my own, although with how expensive everything is these days, it certainly won't be as nice as this one. I guess time will tell as to how things pan out.

*laughs and laughs and laughs*
The fluorescent light in my bathroom stopped working a couple of days ago, and I finally decided to see what the issue was. The bulb looked ok, so I checked the electronic ballast. Eventually, I came across a 100nf capacitor that looked like it had a crack through the middle of it, and sure enough, it tested open with the capacitance setting on my multimeter. I found a suitable replacement in my stash of junk parts, and now I no longer have to pee in the dark 😛

The Indonesian-import 1997 Suzuki Carry Futura van that's been in my family since 2001 was promised to me several years ago, after my dad stopped using it. Unfortunately, I've kind of been involved in a weird "custody" battle for it with my second youngest brother, who has surreptitiously been trying to take it for himself. This doubly pisses me off, because not only was the vehicle promised to me originally as mentioned, but I've also put a ton of my own money and many hours of personal labor doing repairs and mods to it over the years.

Anyway, at least one part of the battle has finally been won, as I spent a non-insignificant chunk of change getting it taxed and registered in my name, so legally, I finally own it. If I were a complete jerk, I'd just take it and drive it back here to my place, leaving him with no vehicle at all, but since I do actually have some decency, I will give him time to finally find his own damn car before that happens (something which I've offered to help him with many times, but he's been completely uninterested).
