My InterestsI think about the majestic redwoods of California all the time. Is their destruction (only 2-3% left) a telling sign for what is to come?
Got a ride with #lyft driver today. I like to find out how folks are doing so I asked. She made about 25% of the $24 fare. Is that equitable or are drivers getting a bum deal?
@Bullix not sure what you mean by “gifts.” That’s not what negotiation to bring about peace is about.
@Bullix I wouldn’t presume to know what negotiations will yield. But I do know that more armaments will surely cause more destruction and misery.
@DebPearlstein does that mean US security outfits and their non-US nationals, like Blackwater, can now be tried for their war crimes?
@haikubot does that mean Henry Kissinger can now be prosecuted?
@CivilityFan the name-calling is not productive. You want to teach Russian a lesson by using the Ukrainians as fodder. We’ll have to just disagree.
@Bullix I think the only feelings that really matter are those of suffering of civilians. It could just as easily be said that those that have nothing to lose are the first to promote endless war. The people that are left behind are always left with the scars. The only way this conflict ends is with negotiations. Delaying will not change that, it will only add to suffering.
@CivilityFan Negotiations are needed to stop the brutal carnage and loss of life. All through history conflicts end with negotiation or in complete and utter destruction. BTW, in your example the US would be Russia and Mexico would be Ukraine.
@alexhung Right. So prolonging the conflict by creating no real resolution. But more arms never lead to peace, do they?
@CivilityFan But what if we were also forcing parties to the negotiating table?
