Learning that white people in Minneapolis are putting Mexican flags on their cars, to make ICE waste their time pulling them over (instead of migrants.)
This is a very cool thing, and precisely the kind of "total oppositional" thinking people need to be doing right now to meaningfully disrupt the fascist project in whatever ways they can. Obviously you're not toppling Hitler by putting a flag on your car, but we need to be thinking about ways to make doing fascism COST more, everywhere.
did anyone want to hear a #Shakespeare speech castigating nativist cruelty against #immigration?
of course such a speech exists: bigoted malice against #immigrants is not new. the wicked have long yoked the ignorant and indecent for power
it refers to a real event: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_May_Day
it is called "The Strangers' Case" speech
from the play "Sir Thomas More"
here delivered by #IanMcKellen from memory
(#Gandalf, #Magneto, etc)
on "The Late Show With #StephenColbert"
White people did not start protesting because ICE murdered Good and Pretti.
ICE murdered Good and Pretti •because• white people were protesting — and fighting back.

Does anyone know a way to donate (online) to a Democratic candidate without going through Act Blue? I don't trust it anymore.
Please don't tell me why I should trust Act Blue. For me, that ship has sailed.
This is about alternatives.
A few things I learned from Economics in college that have ended up being generally applicable in life and at work.
1. Opportunity Cost: The cost of something is what you don't get to do as an alternative. If I stay late at work, I miss dinner with my family.
2. Sunk Cost Fallacy: Don't stick with something just because you've put time, effort or money into it. Evaluate continuing against simply doing something else. If I start a new Netflix series that sucks, I don't have to finish it.
Someone tried to be polite by telling me I had nice teeth and I panicked and responded by saying:
"Oh, that's just...
how they grow...
out of my skull."
So apologies in advance to anyone that tries to have a conversation with me.
