If this is an honest elections (should I use “an” for elections), the 2022 Philippine Elections have proven that democracy does not work in this country.

If enough malthinking, impulsive emotipn-and-shallow-simple-flattery-words-based voters are in a certain population, then no matter

how shitty your record;
how nonexistent your platform is;
how coward you are for not showing up in all interviews and debates (that debate conducted by biased media owned by Pastor Quiboloy, a criminal convicted(not sure of proper term) in the United States and on the FBI Watchlist for sextrafficking of children)
how brain dead and shallow your answers are for real politico-socio-economic problems (who answers feeding program and daycare as solutions for problems faced by single parents, or how you answered “jobs, jobs, jobs, prices, prices, prices” on the question how you would solve unemployment and increasing cost of rice.

I want to scream profanity because that is what my feelings dictate, but obscenities are usually viewed as signs of weak shallow minds.

how bad is the trackpad? Some say it's useable and some just hate it to the point of disabling it.

I will not be using dwm or other tilling window managers, so I'll fairly use the trackpad.

I'm considering making a privacy write up about the fediverse, geared to pleroma, mostly covering scopes and privacy features on the fediverse. So far I can think of these things to talk about:

- admins can read anything that gets to their server, from public, to followers only, to dms
- scopes, a full explanation from network effects to who can see it and how people can change scope
- federation possibilities (posts can get around blocks and people can still see your posts in certain instances)
- how things can federate (relays, fav/react/boost/repeat, followers, talking to people)
- moderation abilities (mute, mute instance, block, federation implications of blocking)
- realities of scraping (could use help with this)
- locked accounts, hiding following/followers

Stuff for admins like:

- locking down an instances timelines (twkn or public)
- restricting search api access to logged in users
- restricting unauthenticated users from viewing remote profiles
- restricting unauthenticated users from viewing remote posts
- restricting unauthenticated users from viewing local profiles
- restricting unauthenticated users from viewing local posts
- turning off the relay
- hiding the active mrf settings (not recommended for public services)
- robots.txt
- a small mention about not running your service on amazon, google, or using cloudflare or other privacy-disrespecting services
- automatic exif removal
- filename randomization
- tls considerations (use 1.3)
- implications of twittercard embedding (setting for admins)

Is there anything I should say not mentioned explicitly here? Anything worth mentioning that's only implied? Missing anything?

Hi fedi, how do MUCs in XMPP work? Are they like IRC channels which are public and anyone can join?

Can I like for example make a private group for me and others in a public XMPP server? Or the admins are the only one who can make the MUC rooms?
