IMHO, this is the greatest threat to the burgeoning #fediverse — the commercialization of large instances, turned into semi-walled gardens through value added features and services (especially easy on-ramping), and subject to the same BS policies and practices that made Twitter and Meta hellscapes and forced us to flee to FOSSer pastures.
