#Atacamite -used as a green pigment since antiquity on ancient Egyptian paintings, illuminated manuscripts, sculptures, oil paintings or here in ancient Buddhist Kizil Caves in China (3rd-8th century) pulls ahead of #Stibnite -used as kohl as cosmetics since ancient Egypt for my #MinCup24 art vote.

Recognise this? Yes, that's #Atacamite! Atacamite can form as a corrosion product of copper alloys so is found coating many bronze statues including the Statue of Liberty.

Atacamite commonly forms in arid saline conditions, thus named after the Atacama Desert, Chile, where the largest crystals have been found.
Away from deserts, atacamite is even known to condense directly out of the vapours of Mount Vesuvius, Italy, and is suspected to even form in deep sea vents.
Being a secondary mineral, atacamite also forms as a corrosion product of copper alloys, meaning it is found on the surface of many bronze statues old and new.
