I used to work at the Starbucks in the #yeg City Centre Mall. Every week or so, a kid would come to the cafe and ask for a cup of water and a breakfast sandwich.

They would always pay in carefully counted coin and over time noticed they were wearing the same clothes.

One day, I managed to catch them on the way out as I was stocking the condiment stand and asked if they were okay.

The science is definitive and clear. A phase-out of fossil fuels is absolutely required to stabilize the #climate.

And the failure to do so is the real risk of driving us back to "the caves."

Al Jaber's position here is explicit fossil-fuel industry propaganda and a classic climate denial talking point.

Google confirms it’s only blocking Canadian news orgs as defined under the Online News Act and would not, for example, block the New York Times or Fox News.

As @mgeist notes:

“The effects will be devastating for Canadian media, who will disappear. In their place will be foreign outlets and lower-quality outlets that do not qualify as eligible news businesses under the law.”
