In 1964, Ringo Starr snapped a photo of some high school students who skipped class to see the Beatles during their first trip to the US. The group had no idea the photo existed until Ringo published his book of photos. Nearly 50 years later, the group reunited and recreated the photo.

Something I really had a hard time to unlearn: that it's not creepy to make an earnestly meant compliment.

The "girl in boy drag" mode of my brain would think: you would so much love to make a compliment about this dress, but you're a guy, this will feel creepy to them.

Which certainly in itself is not correct, although there are a lot of creepy guys out there.

Once you start to receive compliments by yourself from women or trans folks you find out: this is so uplifting!

Next step: try out a careful little compliment yourself. How did THAT feel? Nice, eh?

Having deleted the bird app, that is now an X app, feels good.

From my experience, Mastodon is much nicer, you don't get attacked and harassed for every #trans post you're sending off. People respect each other more here, as far as I can tell.

And I'm happy to find some of my former Twitter friends here as well. That makes me feel more connected.
