I complete a knitting project today. The dishcloth is misshapen and I made some mistakes on increases but it’s complete. Last year I used the same yarn for. Tunisian crochet version and it looks less blue than this one. The chiaogoo needles were okay to knit on. I got them in clearance in several sizes so it’s good I find them useable. Another set are less pleasant to use for me and I prefer the Addi Classic circular needles to them.#knitting #learningtoknit #tunisiancrochet

Trump ran an entire campagin on “No more stupid wars”, and “America First”, only to rename The Department of Defence to The Department of War, and proceed to attack both Venezuela and Iran, while constantly being offended that he is not offered The Nobel Peace Prize.

The US is led by the insane.

My first decent swatch of knitting practice. I even did binding off. Pretty satisfied with this and had good tension most of the time. #learntoknit
@cczona I have had a look and may try this out some time. Really interesting to use a crochet hook too. :)
@cczona Thanks for sharing. I will have a look when I have a bit of peace and quiet.
@cczona I did see some books dedicated to casting on while looking for a potential reference guide to back up the class. As for crochet, I only know the one method and never realised there are other options. I should look into that!.
@HelenLockhart It also didn't help I am left-handed (3 of 6 learners were lefties!). I was so glad about the thumb method which is what worked for me and possibly is what I learned way back when.
@kerravonsen @knitting First method was long tail method and then cable cast on. I struggled with both. Then one of the students mentioned the thumb method and it took a while but it now feels quite natural. I suspect this is the method I learned when I was young.

I had my first IMAX experience today when I went to see EPIC. Initially quite underwhelming due to technical issues that delayed the start of the film for an hour. One positive was missing out on the ads though.

As for the movie itself, what an amazing experience it was. I'm not an Elvis fan but my husband is. I was so moved by it and hubby was near tears at the end. Highly recommend seeing the IMAX version. Not sure how different it is in the regular cinema, but it was excellent.

When I was a child/teenager, my mom taught me to knit and crochet. The crochet stuck with me, but the knitting did not. My only memory is of tight stitches being prevalent.

I decided to try knitting again and did a learn to knit class yesterday. It took me half an hour to work out a method of casting on that worked for me. :D I couldn't get my head around the first methods presented at all. I also learned the knit and purl stitch so I figure I should be okay with doing the garter, stocknette and ribbing if I just keep practicing since I didn't manage to complete the full program.

It was a bit stressful but also encouraging to consider being able to do this mystery craft after all these years.
