Well, that's something, Whatsapp. That's something at least.

Here is a fun thing. I work for Vivaldi Browser. Load any of our websites and you see no cookie banner and no mention of partners.

"But wait" you say, "didn't those terrible Europeans mandate the cookie banner!?"

No, no they did not. We do not need a cookie banner because we are not selling all your shit to every company under the sun.

Also those sites with cookie banners are just doing malicious compliance. This was never about the EU requiring cookie banners!

Vivaldi Browser | Powerful, Personal and Private web browser

It’s a web browser. But fun. It comes with a bunch of clever features built-in. It’s super flexible and does not track you. Get the Vivaldi browser for desktop, mobile, and your car!

I just love that the makers of James Bond set out to make the most exciting, manly character possible with fast cars, sexy women, high stakes gambling and somehow, accidentally, puns got added into the mix.

Rigel is bright. 120 000 times as bright as the Sun. That puts the habitable zone out 346 times as far as it was in the solar system. This makes our orbital period about 1400 Earth years.

We're a little further in than you'd like, forcing us to live out above the pole circle. As I write, the summer light is about to begin. We are experiencing the last evening for a while. In two generations, our children will see the dark again.

@ptmesis Who says this hasn't already happened?
i'm pro AI. For me, its possible to do things I never even thought I could do without it. Because of AI, software that was once completely inaccessible is now accessible. I can finally enjoy cultural things and not feel completely locked away from the world because most of the world is pictures which have 0 meaning to me without descriptions which a mojority of the sighted population don't even begin to consider much less take the time to write down. It's changed the world in both positive and negative ways, but its here to stay and that's the bottom line. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it, but I will and feel absolutely no guilt about it. #AI, #ProAI, #Computers, #Technology
Considering the last rock bottom was the Holocaust and that kept our darkest nature at bay for all of one generation, I think we would be lucky to live under a cloud of debris for a while as a little reminder.

#WordWeavers 3/6 If you have several stories, which one should a new reader start with?

According to my royal road stats (#6 in short stories) this is the most popular one:

I feel strange when I emerge from the scanner. I guess it's not really an MRI scanner any more, but it still feels like I've had an eight hour scan under some heavy narcotics. My thoughts are slow, undefined. Does this mean the experiment has worked? I try to check myself for new memories.

I keep wondering what the rock bottom will look like that will finally wake us up, and make us realize that power should be kept away from people like Trump and Musk.

I think a Kessler syndrome is probably the least bad option that is still bad enough to do it.

We lose our access to space for no other reason than our own stupidity. And then we have to live under a cloud of our own filth for generations.

Elon Musk's SpaceX applies to launch 1m satellites into orbit

The firm wants to create a network of "orbital data centres" to power artificial intelligence.

Man, poor Netanyahu. Just when he was about to get some time to focus on his corruption trial, another war breaks out.
