I just love that the makers of James Bond set out to make the most exciting, manly character possible with fast cars, sexy women, high stakes gambling and somehow, accidentally, puns got added into the mix.
I think James Tiptree/Alice Sheldon deserves a shoutout.
Somehow especially relevant in the context of women's day. She really saw how well scifi could be a vehicle for expressing what it's like to be a woman in our world. Uncomfortable reading, sometimes, for men.

We're a little further in than you'd like, forcing us to live out above the pole circle. As I write, the summer light is about to begin. We are experiencing the last evening for a while. In two generations, our children will see the dark again.

Nicks Worldi'm pro AI. For me, its possible to do things I never even thought I could do without it. Because of AI, software that was once completely inaccessible is now accessible. I can finally enjoy cultural things and not feel completely locked away from the world because most of the world is pictures which have 0 meaning to me without descriptions which a mojority of the sighted population don't even begin to consider much less take the time to write down. It's changed the world in both positive and negative ways, but its here to stay and that's the bottom line. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it, but I will and feel absolutely no guilt about it. #AI, #ProAI, #Computers, #Technology
