@randomdent Picospan on m-net in Ann Arbor mid-to-late 80s. That was my first experience with a beloved online community being sold to a manbaby who ran it into the ground. Dialed in locally at first, then through Merit some years later when I moved out of A2.

@tootapp @wongmjane fair enough. Some icons are part of common language, UI has been making good use of intuitive icons for a couple of decades now. One purpose is to be able to fit more information into available real estate, like comment/favorite/boost counts. Feedback suggests people appreciate that info.

@nathanielpiha you’ll need to add a clove candle to hit that vibe perfectly.

@tootapp @wongmjane it does’t seem to have an option for icons, which feels like a poor use of that real estate. There’s no quick way to see if a toot has activity, I find myself going back to metatext for a more familiar look and feel.

I’ve had occasion to say the same thing, more than once. Those hateful fuckers have tainted so many things.
