Thinking of giving @tootapp a try since it got a new update

Noticing through the screenshots that most of the buttons are text-based (such as favorite and boost) — does the app have an option to display those as icons?

Thanks!

@tootapp @wongmjane it does’t seem to have an option for icons, which feels like a poor use of that real estate. There’s no quick way to see if a toot has activity, I find myself going back to metatext for a more familiar look and feel.
@problemchild @wongmjane I very strongly feel that icon-heavy designs are very user-hostile. I don't think pictures are worth a thousand words here, but instead prefer to actually tell users what buttons actually do rather than forcing them to learn a new hieroglyphic language.
@tootapp @wongmjane fair enough. Some icons are part of common language, UI has been making good use of intuitive icons for a couple of decades now. One purpose is to be able to fit more information into available real estate, like comment/favorite/boost counts. Feedback suggests people appreciate that info.

This is the part I'm going to dispute, though. I think the heavy focus on icon-based design excludes a LOT of people from computer literacy.
