@echo_pbreyer are the minor limitations the previously mentioned amendments to remove the scanning of unknown CSAM and text? Or is it something else
@sysop I assume there's still no issues with following people from the instance or interacting with them then?
@sysop apologies if it's inappropriate to ask but was baraag always silenced? I feel like I don't remember seeing it silenced before so I wasn't sure if I was going insane haha
@echo_pbreyer so is this just one of the proposals? Or did the stance overall shift to not scanning text/unconfirmed CSAM

I'm also curious but how is the fail rate for scanning known CSAM so high? I'd assume most material confirmed as CSAM in the US would still count in the EU so that seems odd.

@HaTetsu the general trend seems to be moving to opposing it...I'm unsure what Spain's intention is with delaying this other than fostering the domestic far right by being even more unlikeable
@dasmatus they're presumably trying to make it permanent because it's currently regulated by the interim regulation that's about to expire

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

“The detection order will not be part of the EU presidency’s new compromise proposal. It will remain voluntary for tech giants to search for child sexual abuse material.”

Danish Minister of Justice, Peter Hummelgaard, confirms today that Denmark is backing down and dropping mandatory scanning.

Thank you all for raising your voices!
