Blinking LED enthusiast. I love messing with the ISA bus on old PCs (most notably on the PicoGUS project https://github.com/polpo/picogus).

There's a guy on TinkerDifferent that got their hands on an early prototype of the Finder from 1982 and some other early demo apps - including the Bouncing Pepsi Caps (made to impress mike scully) app.

MacPaint 0.1, the IconEditor and a few others. This is all stuff the Mac team was using to build the Mac. Pretty cool! I don't think any of these apps were outside Apple until now?

After being extremely cryptic about the new hardware project I'm working on in my last "photo of my monitor" post, here's a hopefully less cryptic one. Now that more things are working, here's a clue that is hopefully a little more obvious about what it is:

Now you can witness one of the first quickdraw calls from MicroPython on mac... 🎉 ⬛

Are there any folks with vintage Mac programming experience who'd like to collaborate on figuring out what's next with Micropython on Mac?

I think that might be: What's the minimal set of APIs to do a fun graphical demo.

Pointers to "how to"-ish documentation in Pascal and C would be great as well, I have failed at finding this kind of stuff. (I do have Inside Macintosh but it is not a great tutorial)

The PicoGUS is such an amazing piece of technology that @polpo has developed. I want to get one working in my custom wood/glass SBC 486 with external enameled wire ISA bus. Let's poke it with the oscilloscope Saturday at noon eastern to figure out what the problem is. https://youtube.com/live/q7gv79ilp7k?feature=share
@polpo here is the board assembled (minus the pci connector).
The #PC104 version of #PicoGUS works and is sounding just amazing!!
Thank you to @polpo for his work and efforts that made porting his ISA card to PC104 such a doddle

I tried throwing the clear CD into as many old CD playing things I could get working easily:
PS1: wouldn't even spin the disc
Amiga CD32: tried to spin up endlessly
Neo Geo CD: tried spinning briefly, gave up
PC Engine Duo-R: tried spinning for a while, gave up
It read just fine in a DVD-ROM drive.
I got that clear Lorde CD because I haven’t bought a CD in yeaaarrrs and c’mon! Clear CD! It’s not as clear as other photos I’ve seen, there’s definitely a faint reflective layer.
