New version of #Vernissage is available in the App Store. Some exciting changes have been implemented:
- muting of statuses boosted by a specific account
- improved view of trending accounts - the list is now compiled from several different sources
- new option to hide all statuses without ALT text

If you are happy with the changes I encourage you to buy me a coffee or coffee and cake 😊. Alternatively, leave a positive comment on the App Story. Thank you very much in advance 😉.

Right wing influencers are convinced the Instagram Threads logo is the mark of the devil
@themeparktrib you may as well include Tampa in your list 🤣 Where would Iron Gwazi go if it was included?

24h later, Threads is at 50m, five times all of Mastodon.

It took some effort following people but honestly threads is pretty great, at least as far as user experience. Very very very much feels like Twitter used to, in a good way.

Yes Facebook is evil, Zuck sucks, etc etc. Honestly it's a pretty low bar but just having him not be a right-wing transphobic shitstain is an improvement.

And the vibe over there is very much "this feels like Twitter when I liked it, Musk is screwed"

I think defederating Threads is a huge missed opportunity for Mastodon to grow.

Imagine interacting with their users and letting them know that: you scroll posts without ads, your timeline is in chronological order, your client doesn’t spy on you, you only see what you want and no other content is pushed to your timeline, etc…

if I was a Threads users, I would move to Mastodon as soon as I find out 🙂

@dcseifert Mailbird for email. Has support for calendar and other things as well.

There’s been a lot of speculation around what Threads will be and what it means for Mastodon. We’ve put together some of the most common questions and our responses based on what was launched today:
