Friday the 13th, a long walk with a camera (because priorities 📷), and yet… a new #Vernissage release just dropped.

Highlights:
- Better EXIF parsing (dates, Canon tags) - thanks @geobomatic
- Captcha can now protect all registration types
- Disabled actions on old status versions (previous versions)
- Fixed automatic user approval (for approval registration flow)
- OAuth now supports urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob

Also: a fresh #Vernissage for iOS just dropped today. Thanks for all the support! 🙌

More improvements have been added to #Vernissage for iOS. The server selection screen has been updated, and a new screen has been introduced that allows users to create an account on a selected server directly within the app. This means new users no longer need to open a website to start using the application.

And one more small surprise - below you’ll find a link to the TestFlight build (the number of slots is limited). I’ll appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Work on #Vernissage for iOS is still ongoing. All planned features have already been implemented. What remains are testing, refinements, and polishing to deliver the best possible app for sharing your photography. The latest build introduces a contextual menu on timelines, adapting to single or multiple photos while previewing the beginning of the status text. 😊

Unfortunately, #Vernissage was not selected for NLnet funding. It is disappointing, but I understand how competitive these calls are. As a fully independent project sustained entirely through community support, #Vernissage relies on patron support to cover its ongoing infrastructure and resource costs. That support now matters more than ever for the project’s future. ❤️

@vernissage i love the App. It works so smooth and fast and makes fun.

First, i miss the Double tap to Like „Feature“, but you're right. You should look at the photos more consciously, see the description, see the camera details and then consciously press the star button. Since then i enjoy much for to See the Photos.

Great Work. 🤩🤩

Today marks exactly two weeks since #Vernisaage for iOS testing began for Patrons. You’ve opened the app almost two thousand times and reported around 30 bugs or improvement ideas - huge thanks for that. And most importantly: there hasn’t been a single (recorded) crash - woohoo! Thank you so much.

Patrons, what do you think of the app so far? I’d really love to hear your thoughts on the UX, performance, and anything else you’ve noticed.

The financial report for running vernissage.photos in February 2026 is ready.

This project is possible only because of your support. If you enjoy using the platform, please consider supporting me.

To my current patrons, thank you very much! ❤️

February 2026 - Financial report

TL;DR: This month, the total operating cost of the https://vernissage.photos platform was $363.90, of which $125.76 was contributed by patrons. I’m deeply thankful for this support - it plays an important role in keeping the platform running and helps make its current form possible.Below is a detailed financial report for the operation of https://vernissage.photos during the month of February 2026

The Terms of Service and vernissage.photos instance rules have been revised, and the actions mentioned in the quoted post are no longer permitted.

So far, testing of the iOS version of Vernissage is going amazingly smooth 🚀

In just 5 days, our Patrons have launched the app nearly 1,000 times (!), submitted 20+ different reports, and (this is my favorite part) not a single crash 🎉

We’ve already shipped 18 builds during that time, iterating fast and polishing things up.

Huge thanks to all our Patrons for the feedback, testing, and support. You’re absolutely amazing. 💛
