Something exciting is coming to Pixelix soon.
Vernissage is an independent, open-source, photography-first platform built for people who care about photos - not ads, algorithms, or faceless corporation. Powered by ActivityPub, it connects with Mastodon, Pixelfed, and the wider Fediverse. Built with passion by the community and sustained by patron support, Vernissage stays free, open, and focused on photographers.

Vernissage’s May cost report is now available.
Running the platform requires real monthly infrastructure costs, so I’m deeply grateful to everyone who already supports the project. Every contribution helps keep #Vernissage independent and available to the community.
If you use #Vernissage and value having a place to share your photography, please consider supporting it. Even buying me a $5 coffee once a month makes a real difference. Thank you to all current patrons. 💚

TL;DR: This month, the total operating cost of the https://vernissage.photos platform was $448.20, of which $326.60 was contributed by patrons. Thank you very much for every contribution!Below is a detailed financial report for operating https://vernissage.photos during May 2026. The report is broken down by individual service providers whose services are essential to keeping the platform running.
Thanks to your incredible support and dedication, the Vernissage translations are making great progress. We already have reviewed translations for English (US/GB), Polish, and German, and we are very close to completing Finnish, French, and Spanish as well. 🤩
As soon as this first batch of translations is ready, I will release a new version of the app, with everything already prepared on my side. Thank you all very much for your help and contributions - your support truly makes a difference! 😊
Today, I successfully installed certificates on my Sony A7 IV that enable photos to include #C2PA metadata. The process was far from straightforward.
My next step is to explore how this is handled in Adobe Lightroom and Capture One. What are your thoughts on adding support for this type of metadata to #Vernissage? It would also be great to discuss how such metadata could be integrated across the Fediverse. 🤔
After yesterday’s #Vernissage release, we’re not slowing down 😊 Today, version 1.5.0 of the iOS client is now available on the App Store.
This update introduces grouped notifications for selected notification types, along with several bug fixes and improvements.
Thank you for all your feedback, support, and help - we truly appreciate it! 🤩

Next on the roadmap for Vernissage are multi-language support (starting with the Web/Angular app), additional bug fixes, and Push Notifications support for the iOS app. 🚀
I’d also like to remind everyone that translations are waiting for community review and verification.
Special thanks to @geobomatic for reviewing the French translation - especially knowing how many strings are involved. Your help is greatly appreciated! 😊
Vernissage 1.38.0 is now available! 🎉
This release introduces create/announce support for user inboxes with visibility validations, a new QuietPublic visibility type on status, and an antiflood mechanism with configurable parameters. It also fixes remote comment notifications, case-insensitive status search, and image rotation issues during small image generation from ActivityPub imports.
Thank you for all your feedback and support! 🤩

If you’d like to support the project and have a little free time, I’d really appreciate your help with translations. Every contribution makes a difference. 🤩
The translations have already been pre-translated automatically, so the main task is to review and approve them. Once all language translations are approved, the new version of the app will be released to production.
You can join the translation team here:

I have prepared #Vernissage for localization into multiple languages. Language selection will be available both before login and after login in account details.
Support has been added for Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Spanish, and Swedish.
I have added and reviewed the Polish translation. Help with verifying the remaining translations would be greatly appreciated. Work will be handled in Crowdin. 🤩
Today we released #Vernissage 1.37.0 🎉
You can now follow hashtags: photos marked with followed tags will appear in your private timeline. Status details also show common hashtags and clearly highlight tags you follow.
The iOS app with hashtag-following support has been submitted to Apple for review and should be available soon.
This release also includes notification improvements, minor fixes, documentation updates, and other refinements.
Thank you for your support! 😊
