Kids nowadays get Chromebooks at college, MacBooks for uni, use Android or iOS on their phones and game on PlayStation 5 and Switch.

Windows is this legacy thing forced on them by old people in business.

I'll be at #IGARSS2025 this week with three posters:

A Moderate Resolution 3D Biome Structure Map of Australia at WEP1.PT on Wed 09:15

Comparing Satellite Derived Vegetation Products from Local to Continental to Global Scales โ€“ Australiaโ€™s Case at WEP2.PV on Wed 14:30

Enhancing Pastoral Condition Assessment Using Hyperspectral Data at FRP1.PF on Fri 09:15

Reach out if you want to catch up!

Reminder: my #LPS25 talk is tomorrow - literally the last talk of the conference.

But I promise it's going to be entertaining and you'll leave on a high note! Here's a sneak peak...

Whether you are maintainers, contributors or just passionate about open geo, weโ€™re always up for an exchange ideas, explore synergies, and build great things together ๐ŸŒ

So tired of seeing those useless _MACOSX folders littered everywhere
We're all brave in our own ways. For example, I'll run an advanced geoprocessing tool without saving before hand. #Brave
Indian grasslands are threatened because they are misunderstood as "wastelands" - a colonial category that refers to their ability to produce revenue in an 18th century land tax system but is now taken by policy makers as synonymous with "degraded" land, thus making grasslands a target not only for conversion to agriculture, but also for plantation forestry and other forms of degradation. Fixing this will require undoing colonial mindsets https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/rec.13858
Fun fact: the MP3 file format is as old today as 8-track tapes were when MP3 was invented
Hey mappers! I finally took the leap and joined Mapstodon! Not that I posted much on Twitter, but that I generally didn't like the vibes on it anyways. Maybe I'll post more since this space feels more community driven ๐Ÿค—
