There's been a lot of talk about a recent rule change at aus.social, as they've banned police from their instance.

We'd like to say that we think they've made a good choice there and that it's always a great idea to prioritise the needs of the most vulnerable members of your community.

One of the strengths of the fedi is the ability to move to servers with policies that suit you best, but please become very familiar with our own code of conduct before deciding if The Blower is right for you.

LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky

"Pre-pandemic,~1% of all jobs posted on LinkedIn were remote. As of today, that number is ~14%...but that's not the fascinating part. What's fascinating is north of 50% of all job applications on a daily basis on LinkedIn go to that 14% of remote jobs"

In other news, I’m on the deck watching the sun set, drinking beers and nibbling on pieces of the demolished gingerbread house.

I must admit I spent most of today thinking it was Wednesday, only to find out at dinner time it is, in fact, Tuesday.

Sharing this as I recognised disappointment as I realised that it was not bin night.

Now they tell me! All those years - wasted.

Request from the Mod team

Could those who still have cross posting turned on please turn off at very least the retweet function? It will be moderated as a Bot as we go through them and accounts may be limited if they wish to keep them turned on.

To be clear this is only about obviously auto posted tweets, if it blends in enough that we as mods cant tell then it's not a problem. You are still welcome to manually link back to twitter, this isnt a ban on promoting other websites.

I'm sure most of you have seen those awful Instagram auto shares on twitter and I don't imagaine anyone likes that.

We welcome all our new Twitter friends and understand that you don't wish to post the same thing twice, but they clog up our public feed with links back to twitter, and we'd rather have the space for those who are here.

As always any questions are welcome, but we didn't set up your auto poster, so we don't have the power to turn it off.

Thank you!
