The margin by which this is the hottest June since records began is absolutely terrifying.
Kees van der LeunToday was the 10th day in a row that temperature exceeded 25⁰C (77F) here in NL (main met station). Never recorded before in June. No big deal for many, but feels eerie when you know that much more heat is in the making, with nasty impacts globally.

Based on daily data, the atmospheric CO2 concentration at Mauna Loa averaged ~424.0 ppm over May 2023. That's ~3.0 ppm higher than last year, and that's a lot.
It is also the highest monthly average on record, and most probably of the last 15 million years.
