I'm very excited to say that #FediFetcher is now on version 7:

The big news here, is that FediFetcher now supports Misskey and its derivatives, including #Firefish and Foundkey. Big thanks to @toadking for making this possible.

This means FediFetcher now supports all of these: Mastodon, Pleroma, Akkoma, Pixelfed, Hometown, Misskey, Firefish (Calckey), Foundkey, and Lemmy.

I'm seeing some instance admins having a beef with the lead developer of Firefish and instead of being adults and handling their disagreement in private, they're publicly airing laundry and threatening to de-federate. I'll admit I don't know all the details, but I've been on Firefish (which used to be Calckey) for a while now and I feel like I can vouch for @kainoa's integrity and his decision-making to date. He's super responsive, he advocates tirelessly for marginalized groups.

Big news today! We've traded in the name #Calckey for a fresh, dynamic identity, #Firefish!

Over the past several months, we've been pouring our energy and focus into this thrilling rebranding journey, operating behind the scenes to orchestrate this metamorphosis for you. Can you believe it? Quite a transformation indeed.

Keeping this all a secret was a bit tough, but it was the right call. As much as I've grown attached to our good old 'Calckey', it was often mistaken for a math app rather than the social media powerhouse it really is. Plus, our project has beautifully evolved into a thriving, community-centric endeavor, so a name change to reflect that felt right.

Now let's talk about the new Firefish logo, which I'm absolutely fond of. Its bold yet approachable style resonates with me. I'm also really digging the vibrant red and orange hues. You will need to migrate your account to https://firefish.ooo

I'm lazy so I setup a new account and will import what I want to that.

Export whatever you want to take with you via export settings and on new account import your data

I have never tried account alias way of migrating 🤷‍♂️
