As a #Firefish admin, I really don't have any interest in taking over anyone's identity.

I strongly believe that social media identity is extremely valuable and should not be meddled with. That's precisely why @kainoa made sure to include account migration as a crucial feature for Firefish. I also want to give a shoutout to @Gargron for being a pioneer in account migration.

Moreover, I truly believe that it's important, if feasible for you, to have your own server. It gives you complete control over your social media identity. If you have the time and resources, self-hosting is a great option. However, if time is limited, going for a fully managed host like #MastoHost or #SpaceHost can work equally well.

Ultimately, the main idea here is that your social media identity should truly and genuinely belong to you.

So, something important to keep in mind when you're using Twitter, or any other Big Social platform, is that they basically have ownership over everything related to you, even your identity. A perfect example of this is the recent saga of the Twitter username formerly known as X.

#Firefish has been making some big strides since our recent rebrand.

I'm happy to announce that we've expanded our server count to an impressive 553 Firefish servers, with the addition of 53 new servers just last week!

But wait, there's more! We've also achieved a major milestone by becoming the 15th most widely used Fediverse software worldwide. How cool is that? It's definitely an exciting time for us!

Oh my goodness, you wouldn't believe how dang excited I was when I first heard about this! I mean, can we just take a moment to appreciate the sheer brilliance of @dansup?

I was all like, "Hey, buddy, can you do us a solid and create a sweet little animal mascot for @pixelfed's fancy new logo?"

And you won't believe what he comes back with! This incredible artist went above and beyond, completely blowing me away with his amazing response.

He was all like, "Nah, forget about those old-fashioned mascots, my friend! Let's take it to a whole new level of cuteness and fluffiness!"

And oh boy, did he deliver! This absolute legend right here created something so mind-blowingly unique and special, it's like nothing I've ever seen before. I'm telling you, it's an absolute gem! We're truly blessed to have someone like @dansup shower us with their unmatched creativity and talent. I can't even contain my excitement, my friend! This is truly a moment to cherish.
