What is wrong with people when they expect something like ChatGPT to render facts? But at the same time, they don't expect Dall-E to render a factual scene. Just because something renders text doesn't mean it is factual. Where does this wordcel bias come from?

I still think there are major and fundamental economic and social barriers to truly decentralized tech, but to the extent that we get decentralized anything it will be without blockchains.

I will never understand why people are so averse to diversity.

I like seeing trans people speaking to each other with idioms I don't get, cute girls speaking a language I can't recognize, or gay dudes priming and posing in random pics.

Seeing shit that is not for me makes me feel like I'm part of a much bigger world that still has space for me to learn and grow.

That's a big place of comfort for me. The bottomless nature of the human experience means we all have space to be fully who we are.

Hackyderm is run by a human trust, and while normally someone's personal project isn't what would want to us due to reliability concerns. The human running it is an expert that big enterprise turns to to ensure their reliability.

So before I start using this too much I am considering which instance I want to be on.
mastodon.social has a reputation for being under moderated and thus blocked by more and more of fediverse, even though it's the biggest. And it being the biggest also means a lot on here is not of interest.
lgbt.technology sounds like my place but a friend of mine had an iffy interaction with a mod so it's not obvious, still a vaguely iffy communication is like a very small indicator. 1/2
