My name is Andy and I'm from Belgium. Born in '76.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for over 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines, as well as the games they cover with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

@gosokkyu

I bought them the day they released, but since they never went up on my regional store, I had to switch the country region to even be able to buy them on Xbox.

But it soon became apparent that the market just wasn't there at all and everyone and everything moved on to Switch.

Seeing the new Shmups Junkie video on all the shooters for the Saturn pop up this past weekend really puts things into perspective.
There are 70 entries in that video and it was my favourite system back in the day, due to all the arcade ports.

But looking at my switch now, I already have 177 digital shoot em ups on it and like 50 or 60 physical releases as well, with more on the way.

I never thought I'd see the day of the genre making such a comeback, even if the vast majority are ports.

@gosokkyu

Ah, that's a shame.

I have all of them on my import 360, but it would be so nice to have them on a modern system as well.

Been thinking about the M2 shooters that only released on PS4 as well like Dangun Feveron, Ketsui, Battle Garagga and Mahou Daisakusen as of late.
But I guess it's a bit too late for them to be ported to Switch now.
I wonder why they never did, while Dangun Feveron even got an Xbox release...

@nazokiyoubinbou

Haha, I forgot about the Hudson controllers!

I was curious with the Beeshu name and logo, but didn't think much of it.
Yeah, it's clear as day now that it was just a rip-off...

@gosokkyu

Bit of topic, but if there's anyone I could ask, it has to be you.

Has there been any talk about LiveWire doing more Cave rereleases on Switch?

I was so hopeful when they did the original 3, but then it took so long for them to release Saidaioujou.

@nazokiyoubinbou

I never saw any of the Beeshu controllers before and I wish they were available here as I do like the look of it.
A bit embarrassing seeing their childish comments about it actually.

I did have the Acclaim Double Player.
It really wasn't that special.
Bit finicky actually as it was via RF, so it's prone to interference.
The slow motion feature was just a simple switch that continuously paused and unpaused the game. Never used it after trying it once.

Heh, I seem to have made a bit of a mistake.

I used to love the series Dexter, up until the last season where it really jumped the shark for me.
I couldn't understand how badly they fumbled it all.

But when New Blood came out, I gave it a try and was surprised at how good it actually was.

Heard something about an origin story with different actors, but ignored it.

Last month I heard about the sequel series to New Blood called Resurrection.
So I was stoked to watch it.

Put on the first episode and it started exactly as you'd expect, then it jumped back in time to Dexters younger days.

I thought that I might have misremembered things about the new series, but nope, I accidentally put on the prequel series titled Original Sin. 😅

I actually kinda liked it.
So now I have two seasons to watch instead of just one!

And Star Trek starts in 3 days as well! 😄

@quester
Me too!
I was so worried when she was gone as I knew that she would not be happy at all being cooped up.
She’s very independent so I knew that she would run away at the first possibility.
I just didn’t know if she’d find her way back to me or not, especially with first that extreme heat and then the massive amount of rain directly after it.

She definitely went through a lot and I can still tell as she is a lot more asocial than before.
But she’s definitely getting better every day, even if it’s little by little.

I just try to give her all the space she wants while still trying to give her as much attention as possible, even if she does ignores me a lot. 😅
But then again, she wants to be near me, even if she doesn’t want to be held for longer than 10 seconds or so right now.

@calder
I’d have to check since it’s been a while since I watched the film.
But I believe the two versions are identical as Adam worked together with Arrow in some capacity, which gave Arrow the rights to put out their own version of a couple of films TWFs had scanned.

And that’s page number 4 of Picross S Mega Drive and Master System Edition completed without any assists.

Has to go inside as it started to rain a little.
Time to edit some more Nintendo Magazine System pages then.

@jenny753 absolutely. 🥰
