So I've lost some weight (intentional) and the most recent thing is discovering that my old sleeping position is no longer comfortable due to where I've lost padding.
It's so weird feeling like there's a lump on my hip when it's just less between the mattress and solid mass.
Some dangerous but frequently expressed myths spotted in the media:
Wealth trickles down from the rich.... (it doesn't);
The state is like a household & must therefore 'balance the books'.... (it isn't & doesn't);
The poor have only themselves to blame...(no, poverty is often due to external factors);
The rich got there through hard work.... (no, mostly the rich have either benefitted form inheritance or have, unacknowledged, good luck)....
Just sayin'

Last week we were roasting. This week I've seriously debated putting the heating back on.

If I could change one thing about US culture, it would be this unshakeable and absolutely backward belief that life must be earned, and generating profit is how you earn it.
Life is a human right. Profit must be earned, and those who want to earn it must respect human rights in order to do so.
Just saw the flash flood in Ruidoso, New Mexico. After the wildfires, it's no wonder the flooding was as swift and severe as it was.
