Cities come in various shapes. Some cities are elongated and sprawled, whilst others are round and compact. The implications? When a city doubles its population, it triples its energy demand from transport. However, this could increase even more for sprawled and elongated cities.

A kind observation that exclusively calling this place "Mastodon" has a bit similar energy as saying "I just sent a GMail."
"Fediverse" (or "fedi") is a more inclusive, general term.
