Trust your phone again!

We sell phones and tablets pre-loaded with #iodéOS (also spelled iode OS), an open, #deGoogled, privacy-by-design version of Android you can trust to respect both you and your personal data.

What we learned in #Minnesota the past several months is that the "easiest path of access" by **certain groups that are very "cold" sounding** looking to track you down regardless of your rights is from the "Big Tech connected phone" right in your pocket.

Sadly we aren't alone.

The time is past due for a move away from Big Tech and a move to #iodéOS from @iode!

Vorbildlich.

Und Reboot mit #iodeOS 7.4 erfolgreich. 🎉

We're happy to announce that we *finally* have the OnePlus Nord N20 with @iode available in our store for $204 (free shipping in the USA)!

This is probably the best value we have to start your #degoogle lifestyle!

Getting here took 10 days of back and forth (and back and forth!) with OnePlus to unlock the bootloader. But it is in *pristine* condition with only *very* slight screen burn-in. Add a bit more if you want one without that.

Long live the #headphone jack!

@killyourfm or others, wondering if I can pick your brain(s) a bit on *how / where* to place effort in raising awareness for my new business, @openmobile (and thus @iode as a preferred open source / #deGoogle option)?

The thing is there is a *really big deGoogle player* (you may know of their recently announced partnership with Motorola, for example).

But there are some key reasons I do not prefer their direction myself and am not too enthusiastic to promote them to others.

Update: testing device has arrived, in excellent condition (maybe previously unsold, it is pristine except for very slight screen burn-in). Currently going back-and-forth *and back-and-forth* with OnePlus to get an unlock code for it. @iode custom build is ready and waiting!

Hope I can offer it in the store this week! https://openmobile.us/

You want to get a device with @iode preinstalled, but it is a bit of a stretch for you to consider buying a premium-tier device for your first venture into a #degoogle lifestyle?

We hear you! We are creating the OnePlus Nord N20 5G images for #iodéOS right now!

These phones have 6GB RAM, a *headphone jack* and a *sd card slot*. This combo is hard to find, but it is also going to be one of our most budget friendly offerings!

Look for it in the next few weeks: https://openmobile.us/store/

Possible new addtion to the OpenMobile store - OnePlus 11 with @iode preinstalled!

Unabashedly premium: Yes a couple years old now, but higher overall Antutu 11 score than a Pixel 10 Pro! Amazing cameras, 256GB / 16GB!

P10 Pro benchmark: https://nanoreview.net/en/soc/google-tensor-g5

Price not yet finalized, but hoping to sell it for less than $500 (tax free + free shipping: currently checking with suppliers)

One of the biggest philosophical differences between Graphene and iodé / LineageOS is extended support. Graphene will not support devices longer than the manufacturer will. This means that the P6a will be "EOL" July 2027: https://endoflife.date/pixel

While true there won't be more manufacturer firmeware patches after that, iodé / LOS believe that doesn't mean that the device should be chucked in the bin.

My Pixel 3a XL (EOL by Google 2022 with Android 12) waves "Hello!" from iodé 6.x with an Android 15 base and LOS system security update from 3/1/2026! 🙂

I mean I wouldn't chuck a laptop in the bin if the rubbish firmware doesn't receive an update (hat tip to fwupd 🙂 ), I am yet to be convinced my phone, that I have less important data on, should be held to a higher standard.
