Just a former #blind redditor who decided to migrate. I can't promise a lot right now, but if you let me figure things out, the payoff may or may not be huge. Anyways, glad for a new corner that I can call my own.

"Why don't people want to pay for streaming anymore?" cry the companies who split streaming into 40 different services that keep increasing in cost while randomly removing content without warning, and shoving ads into our paid services.

Yup, sure is a mystery. A real head scratcher.

Ok some people on here are pissing me off so I'm off to read my book for the rest of the day but before I leave I will say...

Sanitation workers have the most important job in any given society and most people wanna look down on them because it's not "skilled" labor. To these people I would ask that you take a few moments and seriously consider what would happen if you had to deal with your own trash removal or if the sewer infrastructure collapsed.

If you think you're better than these essential workers because you went to college and got a fancy degree, or even if you don't have a fancy degree but just have a job that makes you feel superior, please know that you'd be crying like a baby if you had to deal with removing your own trash and literal shit. Sanitation workers are so undervalued but really are the most important workers of society.

There are no low skill jobs, only jobs that aren't valued or properly compensated, that snobby assholes feel justified in looking down upon.

The other day I was talking with some friends about those car wash places where you drive in and go through and the whole thing is automatic. As a kid, those things absolutely terrified me because they were so loud and I couldn't see what was happening around me. But, it really got me thinking. If the technology exists for cars, why can't they develop something similar for people. I mean, think about it. You walk into a shower stall, and the water comes on, (set to your prefered temperature of course), and all these nice soft sponges come out and start scrubbing you with soap and water. I haven't quite figured out how the hair washing would happen yet, but when you're totally clean, you move to another area where a dryer comes on and completely dries you. I suppose this sort of exists in the In Death novels by JD Robb, but why is this not a thing already? Think of the advantages it would offer to those who aren't able to bathe themselves due to disability. Go into the stall in one of those rolling bath chairs and it's all done for you. Am I absolutely crazy? (Um, that's a rhetorical question, and probably shouldn't be answered by anyone who knows me well.)
Working on/developing my various Audiogame related projects might not be the best use of my time, but I enjoy the creating, exploring, and learning. There are so many unique challenges to developing games without the hastle of graphics. I tend to burn out on ideas quickly and move on to the next. It would be cool to share them with someone who could appreciate them without judgement in their unfinished states though.
Just taking a second to express just how awesome the Hearthstone Access mod team is. So get this. The new player experience introduces you to all modes of the game. Previously, Tavern Brawl wasn't accessible via the mod. However, because it is part of the new player experience, its priority for accessibility work moved up, and as a result, it was added to the mod. Not only that, but catchup packs, which you could open but previously caused the mod to crash, work perfectly now. All of this is there to make things as easy as possible on new players. No need to install Golden Cursor to get through that part, it's just all accessible. That deserves some serious praise.
So, I just learned this and honestly, I just don't know how to feel about it but apparently, my eyes look creepy. It sucks that I can't improve this part of myself because I can't control my eyes. This is one of the parts about being #Blind I never had to think about but this definitely lowers the attractiveness score quite a bit, and there's not much I can do about it except wear uncomfortable glasses to appease the damn sighted population.
Here’s some fun news from the unexpected #GameAccessibility story department: For those who don't know, there's a ton of very little and cheep handheld emulation consoles you can get from China, which run their own linux-based OS which is just a UI for a bunch of emulators. Well, someone got in touch with a developer of this software and apparently pretty soon if you want to make one of these speak the menus, it’ll soon be possible to load a version of this software that does. https://forum.audiogames.net/topic/49754/why-we-should-applaud-small-devs-and-the-open-source-community/

I'll say it loudly so the people at the back can hear:

Being an #introvert has nothing to do with having poor #social #skills !

The best description I've heard of the difference between an #introvert and an #extrovert is extroverts recharge their batteries by being with others, introverts do so by being alone.

We all have varying levels of social skills. It differs by person, by situation, and even by day. But it has nothing to do with introversion or extroversion.

I've been having so much fun with Mortal Kombat 1 lately when it comes to the story mode and learning how to play the various characters, and I'm forever grateful for all of the accessibility features implemented into the game, but as I dive into the communities and conversations I'm learning more and more about disappointing/game breaking issues that leave me wondering whether or not this game's release should have been delayed.
Oh look. The official Forza Motorsport support accessibility page is out, and it's massive. @superblindman https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/20964254277267
