Ended up diving into a little bit of Groovy code this morning. Kudos to the folks over at http://groovy-lang.org for writing such fantastic high-level language docs. I've seen enough crappy docs to really appreciate good ones.

This is a public warning, if your instance (or software) avoids/bypasses user-specific blocks, or post-deletion requests, then bsd.network will block your entire instance. This also includes if you "forgot" to implement it.

An important part of the Fediverse is trust, and violating that trust is a quick way to anger us.

I'm a big fan of Golang, working a lot on my bash, and looking to branch out. I think some of my weekend will be trying out Rust for the first time. Any advice from folks on where to start?

@purism I support anyone who works to spread Linux and freedom of computing to the mainstream but I have to point out that your decision to remove the ability to report abusive behavior on your instance is a bad move.

Abuse reports are a basic function of this network and disregarding this tool means disregarding the community at large.

Without the ability to let you know when one of your members is being abusive your instance will end up being blacklisted and that would be unfair to your paying users.

On the one hand, I am happy to hear they're moving away from the News Feed model. As the author states, it is involved in a lot of their worse abuses as a platform. On the other hand, it frustrates me that people don't flock to alternatives. What hinders them??

Went for a walk early this morning out in the neighborhood. I love to experience nature and think about what it may say of its creator or of us. If you feel kind of meh, and you can get outdoors, I highly encourage giving some fresh air a try.
