This is a public warning, if your instance (or software) avoids/bypasses user-specific blocks, or post-deletion requests, then bsd.network will block your entire instance. This also includes if you "forgot" to implement it.

An important part of the Fediverse is trust, and violating that trust is a quick way to anger us.

@phessler I have no idea why deletion notices sometimes don't work

like, I'll see multiple copies of a post that someone redrafted sometimes

@ben sometimes the updates are sent out of order, or one of the endpoints was offline (so it missed them) at that specific moment.

As long as they generally arrive in time, and are correctly acted upon, then it generally isn't a problem.

My concern is when software intentionally ignores the deletes, or delivers a message that had limited delivery to everyone. That's over the line.

@phessler So bsd.network will block teduโ€™s honk instance as AFAIK honk doesnโ€™t supports deletes?
@lanodan not yet, but we will discuss that with him in greater detail.
@lanodan nothing honk receives is publicly visible, by design.
