Crowd wisdom needed:

If I’m right about neurodiversity, it should be reflected in our human culture somewhere.

I would expect to see it as personality types attached to something like mythical creatures. Is anyone aware of anything please?

I’d much rather explain myself as “someone touched by the Japanese cloud dragon” (made up for example) then say “I have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder but it’s not a disorder, I’m not hyperactive unless fed an unnaturally sugary diet and my attention isn’t really in deficit except before my first coffee and before bed.”

So. Everyone. Where is it in our culture?… (and no, modern eugenicists don’t count as they are wrong).

Boost for coverage please.

It is literally impossible to explain ADHD task avoidance to people who don't experience it, I think.

It has to sound absolutely insane to just sit around, filled with dread and anxiety, not doing a small thing you "could do any time" that really needs to get done. And to just continue that way for hours, days, weeks, months, even fucking years.

Like, who lives that way? How can anyone live that way? (I live that way, but I don't know how I survive)

This is a well established practice which goes way back to the Soviet era.

1. Make unreasonable demands.
2. Make threats of bad outcomes if demands aren't met.
3. Give no concessions in negotiations.
4. Wait for other party to conceed something.
5. Make new unreasonable demands.
6. Return to beginning.

I have a deep aversion to local TV news, but now I am ON it because last year, the power company Arizona Public Service cut off electricity to my mother’s house outside of Phoenix, killing her.

Fraudsters can now do deepfake videos in real time. Just what we needed, another assault on our ability to trust in reality or the evidence of our senses.

Especially if you have any elderly relatives, it's worth setting up a code-phrase you can use to verify your identity.

The Age of Realtime Deepfake Fraud Is Here

Fraudsters are able to change their race, facial hair, voice, and more during live video calls with very little effort. Scammers are already fooling the elderly and verification systems.

@adamhsparks @IcooIey @afewbugs @buttplugio A friend was asked by a shocked administrator to explain the "latex companion" paid for by grant funds. It was a book about LaTeX.
@IcooIey @adamhsparks @afewbugs @buttplugio I had a friend who had to provide a plan for weaning her fish to the animal ethics board. No amount of reasoning with them would convince them that fish aren't mammals and don't lactate. Sometimes I sympathize with people who complain about over regulation.

recommend me things to do in #Copenhagen !
