the working class has a long tradition of music. Music as a rallying call, music to give hope and music that argues for change.

Where is the music of the queer community? And why don't I know about it? What do queer folk listen to for hope in a world that seem to be going against? What do you play in the streets to give energy to crowds?

Give me the recs I haven't heard yet!

Anyone can recommend #Literary #Blogs that are NOT in substack? I feel the content getting a bit commercialized... like back on SEO days and thus loose their charm.

Anyone know of a good email service? (Sending out auth emails)

Currently I’m forced to advise clients to use AWS, but I’d rather use a service that’s not supporting a billionaire’s lifestyle.

In moving house and getting induction, a few of my pans no longer work (I knew that going in).

it's big sale season, and I'm ready to replace things. But I'm in a spiral about skillets and frying pans - non-stick, cast iron, or stainless steel?

My previous set up wasn't ideal (a giant non-stick lidded skillet that had long stopped being non-stick which I used for everything, a non-stick crepe pan that was perfect and miraculous, and a lidded medium-sized stainless steel skillet).

I'm thinking the new arrangement looks something like:
- lidded medium stainless steel skillet
- small non-stick skillet (maybe ceramic?)
- medium or small cast iron skillet? (are they just a faff?)
- maaaaybe something large as well, but I don't know yet whether that's a pan or a wok (I have to research induction and woks)

Do you have recommendations for me?

Is a cast iron skillet worth it, or just too heavy?

Sunday morning question for everyone:

What are your favourite vego* cookbooks?

I don't use cookbook recipes much, but I love to browse then do it myself, so I use a lot of meaty ones and just make my own substitutions. But I get asked for veg recommendations a lot.

But my favourite actually vego books so far are:
- East, Meera Sodha (every recipe I've followed is fantastic)
- Plenty and Plenty More, Ottolenghi (for the food porn)
- Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romeo's baking series for consistently good sweets

Easiest application to clip a video with no watermark? Preferably Linux, or Android.

I sometimes use OpenShot but it's really complicated and multistep workflow for what is essentially cutting 4-5 seconds of preexisting video. PS: I see you wanting to recommend ffmpeg, I heart you, I heart ffmpeg too, but the first word in this post is "Easiest"
