I'm new here, part of the #twittermigration . I enjoyed being a part of the community there, and am saddened to leave. But looking forward to building a place here. Communities I was part of were #birding #photography #poetry #writing #Nunavut #north and more. #introduction

It's time to put on makeup

It's time to dress up right...

Twitter learned, and Reddit is fast learning, that people are not addicted to the platform, they’re addicted to the community they found there. Ruin the community, and people will leave the platform. It really is that simple.
Anyone who has had to take any kind of training about dealing with government documents should be beside themselves after seeing the bathroom picture. It's just insane.
I feel like being in possession of that amount of incredibly sensitive national security data (according to the unsealed indictments) ought to have been no-knock warrant territory, personally

Oh wow. Jake Tapper just directed CNN control room to get rid of #Trump's visit to cafe after arraignment: "I don't need to see any more of that. He's trying to turn it into a spectacle..Enough of that. We've seen it already." This is good. More plz.

AND Nicolle Wallace also did same on MSNBC. This is good & media should do this from now on. Don't give Trump attention he desperately craves & wants. There are much better things to show than Trump trying to celebrate this moment

And look at that... my reply from Mastodon appears here in Lemmy. Ain't the Fediverse grand?

Within a week, #Lemmy has grown by 80,000 users.

If Lemmy were a Silicon Valley start-up, this would be big news.

If Lemmy were Bluesky, this would be big news.

If Lemmy were an A.I. company, this would be big news.

However, with the exception of @[email protected]’s Techdirt, the tech press refuses to cover the #RedditMigration.

@avantgeared @mmasnick The admins from Beehaw, who are not tankies, explain why they still bother with Lemmy: https://beehaw.org/post/524300

The fact is, as good as #Kbin is, it’s not as mature yet as Lemmy.

The people who make Lemmy might be problematic. However, Lemmy (the software) makes the world less worse by federating. And a world that is less worse is better than simply being worse.
