@GeePawHill I was in Germany last week. It was hard being in a place where the US was historically a relatively unambiguous force for good in the face of whatever’s happening here right now. Thankfully my friends there were mostly compassionate towards what we’re experiencing, but it’s easier to do that in person I suppose.
@ZiggyTheHamster I love this so much! It’s wildly underappreciated how much critical
Internet infrastructure is maintained by folks from the furry community. I’m thankful for y’all, and I’m thankful y’all have such a rich community.
It’s a lot to pack for an otherwise minimalist traveler, but it always beats hotel coffee.
I got to Berlin too early to check into my hotel. I still have some work to do on my talk for LeadDev, so I needed a quiet place to sit and work for a few hours. Decided I might as well check a bucket list item off in the process (riding an ICE train), so now I’m headed to Wolfsburg for lunch. 😂

So I tried Malort for the first time tonight. I loved it so much that I followed my shot by ordering a Malort Hanky Panky.

Apparently I’ve been conditioning my bitter palette even more than I realized.

Hit 3 years today.
@davetron5000 @Schneems I’m very happy using SteerMouse to configure my Ploopy trackball. It does let you configure scroll wheel direction independently of the system-wide natural scrolling configuration. (The main thing I use it for is making one of my trackball buttons a sticky switch to use the trackball itself for scrolling.)
@olivierlacan Immersion is probably part of it as well. Much easier to get consistent results out of an immersion method because you're soaking the grounds, not trying to pour perfectly so you don't get channelling etc.

@olivierlacan Ooh, interesting! What is it you like about the coffee it produces? I can't decide if it would be more siphon-style (tea-like consistency with a ton of flavor) or Aeropress-style (more body because pressure forces more of the coffee through the filter).

I've been really happy with my Hario Switch routine for a while now. It lets me vary the ratio of percolation and immersion to pull a coffee towards brightness or fullness, whichever I want more of from a particular bean.

@olivierlacan I have not. Have you?
