A random science fiction/fantasy loving Christian guy from an edge of the empire Roman market town. A foreigner & stranger on earth... looking for a country of my own.

It’s apparently the 70th anniversary of the discovery of #DNA by Franklin, Crick & Watson today. I’m reminded of the following quote by Salvadore Dali: “And now the announcement of Watson and Crick about DNA. This is for me the real proof of the existence of God.”
Anyone seen roadworks as lazily done as this?
Today I learned that it is impossible to grow #bonsai from see if you have a mother, because as soon as your mother sees the seeds being primed in the fridge before sowing, she will ask “what’s that tat” and immediately throw them in the bin.
May you all be blessed and happy in 2023 and may your journey through the year be of a manner that reflects this.
@Mattrog Pyrenese in the middle of August seems a little risky for a vanilla bike.

I'm not a #cycling enthusiast by any means... but am looking to train up to do a #Camino pilgrimage by #ebike in 2026 and could do with advice on a #mountainbike that will suit my needs. Would appreciate any advice on a number of budgets.

Thanks

@adambienkov one big flaw in that consensus is that the generation in question is already near the end of the line by virtue of age, anyway….
@EmmaKennedy would you be lamb and teach me the art of this sorcery?
@gretathunberg I’m more worried about the folk who prefer Venus and are trying to to turn our blue green jewel into it. Don’t worry about the Marsies, they’ll soon back down - there’s no atmosphere 😊. I have a soft spot for Jupiter though. I love the fact it isn’t something to underestimate - yes it’s all fluffy clouds to look at, but get to B close and it’ll pancake you… and it’s just as likely to lob rocks at you, as send them hurtling in the opposite direction.
@DaveGorman I guess it’s a bit like being the edgy kid who listened to all the indie music and then watched on despair as their bands became more mainstream. :)
