There is no argument, NONE, that bans on transgender kids in sports promote “fairness.” They never result in positive outcomes for the kids who are questioned; they end up harming completely uninvolved parties; and they don’t materially help the kids playing with or competing against trans kids. It’s all theater and scapegoating with kids as pawns.
Columbia must now show courage and empathy by admitting it made a mistake. Clemency for the protestors; open the gates; stand up to the would-be authoritarian. Great piece by former Provost Jonathan Cole.
