man, I really don't understand why anyone would use Earth Engine for anything they want to exist long-term

Latest thing was using raw flight data (airspeed, position, altitude, etc) as input to a weather model.

Of course, this has already been done. I had no idea the extent of it though!'

There's still a lot of room to innovate and utilize the whole dataset.

ECMWF has started to use Mode-S aircraft observations again to improve the quality of forecasts after this type of data was found to be used in too large numbers during the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

I keep "inventing" things and excitedly text my collaborator. They dutifully inform me: cool idea, it already exists.
@t36s I find you can sometimes get surprising purchase on those holds when they are rotated more than ~30deg from horizontal by aiming for the highest corner with your hand sorta like a C shape, hooking over the hold.

Quick, someone become exorbitantly wealthy so we can buy all the golf courses and turn them into conservation easements.
It's likely I will move later this year, which poses a challenge for some of the services I've self-hosted, like this instance. Will need to potentially relocate. Time to instance browse 🙂
@glyph it's all a smokescreen that's allowed me to hire smart people and actually shift the field of hydrology. I welcome the distractions 🙂
