In which I explain to confused Tories what it is they stand for

The Guardian/Observer has a headline today: ‘No one knows what we stand for’ For a story in which Tories gathering for their conference complain about their party's offer for the voters. "It’s almost like we’ve become a sort of protest movement masquerading as a government," one says. So I thought I'd lend a helping hand. I’ll tell you what you stand for.

This is what you accept when you object to 20mph speed limits. This is what you shrug and say "yeah, that's fine, happy to accept this rate of death" over.
Good evening Fediversistas! Busy day. Plenty of commuting/sitting in a comfortable chair listening to music. Also work. Meetings. Peppermint tea. Evening amble under the sunset. There were swans.

30/08/2023 - The night of the Super Blue Moon. Walk on Bennachie. We reached Mither Tap about an hour after sunset. Then a dark walk over the top to Oxen Craig for a sit and a brew. Forecast had looked good but the clouds came and it rained a bit on the way back. Still the moon was lovely and it was good to be out. Bit of an odd vibe on the hill this evening.

12/08/2023 - A trip to the stars. Forecast looked cloudy but we decided to chance it so after tea we headed out. Evening walk on Bennachie. Got to the top about half past sunset. Not many breaks in the clouds but we sat, had a brew and waited. By 10.30pm we decided to move and walk the top before heading down. The sky cleared, the stars came out, Milky Way and best of all the Perseid meteor shower. Some great meteors zooming across the sky. A wonderful evening on the hill.

I’m glad to see this wrong has been righted. It terrified me as a small child when my aunt took me to the cinema to watch it.

This morning is feeling like a walk in the park. Let's hope it continues that way.
