Such a blast hosting the Point Reyes Birding and Nature festival! I love meeting all the folks who travel from the Bay Area and beyond to attend the three day event. Last nights keynote by Keith Hansen was amazing and to wrap up today with an all kids event was so much fun. I’m grateful to the guides, volunteers, sponsors, my team, and our attendees who all make this possible each year! 💚💚💚 #pointreyes #birding #pointreyesbirdingfestival
Bird is the Word! Today kicked off the start of the Point Reyes Birding and Nature Festival! A little late in posting, but it was a beautiful sunrise, I had to pull over to take a picture. The fun continues Saturday and Sunday. Some tickets still available for field events! Also don’t forget to bring your littles to the FREE family day on the green in front of the EAC Office. Hope to see you there!! https://www.pointreyesbirdingfestival.org #birdingca #PointReyes #birding

I don't know how I missed this awesome geology map tool, saw it recently here on Mastodon (and now I've forgotten who to credit for it) but here you go, just zoom in on any region to find out about the rock formations, fossils, and faults. You can also draw elevation profiles. And the entries contain linked citations to the reports the information was drawn from!

In the weeds California climate question here. I’ve just finished reading through the Marin County Housing Element Draft EIR and there are significant and unavoidable impacts to the County’s CAP due to the amount of growth. This can’t just be a Marin County, it has to roll up to the MOP plans too. I’m scratching my head here, How do we reconcile or mitigate the impacts of so housing and stay on target with GHG reductions? We need both to happen. Especially affordable housing.
