Being “apolitical” or “centrist” is a powerful and world-shaping political choice: a vote that things are already pretty much OK as they are, not only for you but for others who are seeking to fix problems you choose not to care about.
Happy #valentinesday! On February 14 in the year 269, Saint Valentine was reportedly beaten and beheaded here, at the Porta del Popolo in Rome:

There’s nothing wrong with the new #icecubes app notification sound. It’s not shrill, loud, or alarming, it fits the app theme, and having a custom sound is a great feature.

So I cannot explain why it makes me jump every time!

No dead person ever said, “I wish I’d spent less time at the office.”
The increased oversight by conservative extremists of what books librarians can order for school libraries (i.e. cracking down on materials about gender, sexuality, race, and racism) is genuine Nazi behavior. https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2023/01/22/students-want-new-books-thanks-restrictions-librarians-cant-buy-them/
Students want new books. Thanks to restrictions, librarians can’t buy them.

Conversations with 37 school librarians across 21 states suggest a thicket of red tape is impairing their ability to buy books.

Shyamalan’s The Village was a good movie. I just re-watched it. It still is.

Normally I find the Tomatometer useful. I tend to favor movies the critics like better than audiences… But in this case, what were critics thinking??

Well, Greta Thunberg has done it again.

After baiting right-wing troll Andrew Tate into responding to her brilliant taunt yesterday, a theory abounded that a pizza box from his ill-conceived clap-back video actually led Romanian authorities right to his door.

And Greta was waiting with another tweet for the ages.

Brava! 👏

Hello #Mastodon friends,
I have reported this fake account (in photos), where someone is impersonating me in many comments using my photos & bio to promote their writing. If this indieauthors.social account replied to you, don’t be duped.

Aside from reporting, there’s little I can do, but welcome any #tips. This happened on #Twitter & it’s disappointing to see it again here. But on social media, so it goes.

“Even in your darkest moments, I could see you arriving here.

You have brought glory to this service, and to me, John Mastodon.

But now I must away, for there are others who need me around the world.”
