Look what just got a release date 👀
Can you imagine if one day you got in your car and it had a top speed of 600MPH as "normal driving speed"? That's how the web would be in 2023 had all the third-party tracking crap never existed.
(I just did some page loading analysis with and without functionally-unnecessary 3rd party ecommerce assets and needed to find a way to express the speed increase to non-tech types.)
I keep thinking about how we programmers tend to mistake arrogance for confidence.
Arrogance leads to poor decision-making due to a lack of curiosity. Not exploring a technical space.
Confidence is leveraging curiosity, knowing you’ll weigh tradeoffs appropriately.
