@april Is DNS-level blocking considered same as “ad blocker” (and I assume that means browser extension, browser-provided privacy features, etc.)?
@stubbornella ... And, if only now we could get Firefox to release :has() support.
@stubbornella This is so cool. If this works like I think it does, I can finally ditch a JS hack I built that listens for window resize events and applies CSS class names to <body>. I used that so it was easier and cleaner to organize device-specific CSS rules in adjacent proximity without separate sections of repeated rules in size-specific media query blocks. At least now the MQs can be locally grouped in the rules they apply to.
@textfiles That is just the coolest place for what you’re doing there.
@dcid Hey, Daniel. Is the noc.social server struggling to keep up? For the past couple of days, I can reload my following feed and the latest posts are usually 4h or older. I do not see any posts in the < 60m range except for in the noc.social and federated feeds. This is happening when using the noc.social website UI as well as my Mastodon client. So that’s making me suspect something is amiss with the server or my account on it. I follow about 100 prodigious posters, too.
@SomaFMrusty ...does not apply to Groove Salad. If you tuned in during a song, you’re just a little closer to the next awesome track.
@textfiles Not just any documentation, but written like an author of fictional detective/adventure/intrigue novels. Super impressive work. I only got about 20% into it before speed scrolling to the end. Copy protected Apple II disks were annoying in the day but it astounds me even more now how much effort went into creating and defeating it. Was it worth it in the end?
@smashingmag Firefox needs to implement this with the bookmarks management on the toolbar. You have to drag your mouse like a surgeon to move a URL from the location bar into a menu of bookmarks with sub folders. Super annoying in 2023.
@marcoarment Maybe adding some weight to the bottom corner of the flag might help? I’d try some strong rustproof magnets and snap pairs of them against the fabric.
@morgan @mammoth Correction: the “Publish Post” toast alert does eventually appear after receiving the asynchronous response from the server. There should be an immediate UI indicator that the “post has been submitted”, and then only if there is significant delay in the server responding a secondary “your post is now available” (or something to that effect). It’s frustrating to submit it, get no feedback, then check for your reply and still not see it, and wonder if it worked at all.
