Reading Wir Kinder Vom Bahnhof Zoo/Christiane F. What a gripping book! I can't take my eyes out of it!

Chambers Beneath is one of the most fun dungeon crawler RPGs I've ever played. The learning curve might be steep, unless you actually read the manual. But as soon as you figure out basic rules it becomes a pure exploration (with permadeath). Highly recommend for everyone with 8088&CGA: https://cyningstan.itch.io/the-chambers-beneath

Working in a more managerial position is killing my love for coding. My personal projects are dying like never before...

Fedi Osdevs, please I need I to know:
Why is the physical address in real mode segmentreg * 16 + offset?? Where does the 16 come from?

One more screenshot of the classic MacOS 8/9 theme under XFce. Honestly, from all the themes I've done, this one I enjoy the most. It's rather convincing because it doesn't use docks or launchers that all modern OSes use, so it feels different.

This is a long shot, but: any British CD-ROMantics familiar with a Windows CD-ROM game based on Raymond Briggs's Father Christmas?

There was a CD-ROM game released only in Japan for Saturn from a British studio. Their other Briggs CD-ROM eventually got a PC version, but I haven't seen a PC version of Father Christmas yet. Wondering if one exists or not.

It's done! I have just released the Compendium version of #Elite for the #Acorn #Electron.

This massively enhanced version of the original game contains pretty much every feature of #BBCMicro Elite, but on the Electron. Just add 16K of sideways RAM.

Here are the links:

Right on, Commanders!

@markmoxon how do I ... make it go! I'm just got the commander welcome screen but nothing else! and thank you, this was my first video game essentially, in ... 1985

@Monstersx Find a manual! It’s complex.

In the emulator, TAB-n is the same as pressing Func-1, so try TAB-1 to launch, for example. Does this help at all?

@Monstersx Try the Beeb manual: http://www.elitehomepage.org/manual.htm

Note that f0, f1, f2 etc. on the Beeb equate to FUNC-1, FUNC-2, FUNC-3 etc. on the Electron, so that’s TAB-1, TAB-2, TAB-3 etc.in the emulator.

Good luck!

@markmoxon Aarh, this game almost cost me a trimester at university in those days.
