Hello, world. The never-stop geraniums still doing their things. Love these guys. #gardening
to be a successful community led open source project maintainer you need to:
- write code (i guess)
- be good at 1-1 communication
- be good at mass communication
- be good at writing
- know your limits
- know when to stop and learn
- know how to delegate
- know how to establish and keep good interpersonal relationships
- know how to recruit people
- know how to teach people
- be *really* efficient at teaching people, since most will drop out
- track concerns faced by both novices and experts

What's that movie from the 90's with 2 precocious teenage girls who befriend Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger and they inadvertantly help them do Watergate ? I think it has the chick from legally blonde, might be wrong
I feel like there's a lot of not so low key essentializing that gets casually thrown around

like men can have long hair, women can wear baggy clothes, etc.

There are also behavior, that are just universal that gets gendered unnecessarily, like being sub vs Dom, outgoing vs introverted, there's nothing gendered about cooking or cleaning or having a weird fixation with model trains.

This also goes for shitty behavior like being self absorbed, insensitive insecure petty etc. Of course anything a person does is flavored by their gender expression, but there's this obsessive scrutinizing of everything people do thru a gendered lense and its just uggh
