I’m reading Stolen Focus by Johan Hari. It’s about how our ability to focus is being impacted by various elements. It’s a fascinating read. He lays out twelve factors impacting our loss of ability to focus. It isn’t all laid at the feet of social media. Our lack of quality sleep, from childhood, plays a role. The devaluing of mind-wandering. The collapse of long from reading, especially fiction and its impact on empathy. I’m just getting to how tech plays a role. Highly recommended! #bookreview

This morning was an Easter miracle! The cats let us sleep in this morning! So we enjoyed a lazy breakfast with leftover blueberry muffins. Last week was super busy so we promised ourselves a day of relaxing. It was so great to just sit and savor my coffee. Next week is going to be busy as I’m hoping to finish the updates to our water harvesting system. We spent a fortune on water during last summer’s heat wave trying to keep the garden and trees alive. Grey water collection should help a lot.

I haven't painted anything in two weeks; the stress from my day job and from the outside world has left me in a state of creative paralysis lately, or maybe it's major burnout.

I sat down this weekend and took some time for myself. It was nice to slough off the outside world for a bit and just create.
