Vast majority of dog owners are responsible, pay attention to their pupils, pick up after them and so on. But because of a tiny number of people like her is why dogs are not allowed in most public places or in public transport, or why it's generally harder to rent with a dog.

Finally I lost my temper when her dog started harassing my friends' puppy, and I asked her to take her dog away.

Two minutes of angry screaming contest later, with her repeating that her dog is just like that, that this is an off-leash beach, that it's ME who can go away or stop playing she finally grabbed him by his collar and started walking away with him.

Something she should've done the very minute he started jumping on people.

It repeated a few more times, with me conceding twice just for peace of mind and hiding the ball until the puppy went away. I thought he was far enough, but he came over as soon as I took the ball out and started jumping all over me again.

Except that woman just stood a few metres away chatting with her friends, her dog jumping all over me and trying to take a ball from my hand.

When we finally got her attention, she said that her dog simply is like that, that "she never takes a ball to the beach because of him, haha", and that I should hide the ball I was playing with MY dog. She did nothing to redirect or restrain her dog, and not a single "sorry" word was said.

I had an unfriendly run in with a woman on an off-leash beach earlier today. She was taking care of a Belgian shepherd puppy who was really excited about any toy or ball he could find, to the point of jumping on people trying to play with their own dogs.

It happens, it's a normal thing, especially for young dogs. Usually the owner can redirect their attention or restrain them or take them somewhere else.

On the same note, a leash is a good way to control your dog if you can't do it just with your voice or gestures, especially if your gets SUPER excited about something. It's a good idea to have one on you at all times — even in an off-leash area.

Hey #dog parents, friendly reminder that even if you're in an off-leash area you're still responsible for your dog's behaviour and must keep them under your effective control.

If your dog is jumping on other people and annoying them or their dogs, it's your responsibility to redirect your dog's attention or restrain them. It's never a good response to just say "sorry, my dog's just like that, deal with it", and ask the other person to change their behaviour.

It's surprising how resilient plants are. I'm not the most diligent gardener when it comes to watering them, and the withering was partly my fault. It's great to see that they survived my laziness 😅

And this is how much withered branches and leaves I got from 6 plants.

My tomatoes started withering a bit so I thought that that's it for this year's harvest, their time has come and I'll need to soon clean up. Imagine my surprise when today I noticed a lot of new branches springing from the apparently withered ones, and a few bunches of these green bois.

This is how it works? Right?
