QuasitThere's no denying it: the two pots I bought for the additional tomato plants aren't big enough. They were expensive, but even so they're too small.
But a smart friend suggested that two five-gallon •buckets• would be much more suitable, and Lowe's has them cheap. I'll have to make some holes in the bottom, but that's no problem.
I'm just worried that the repotting will be messy. But I'll deal with that.
elbowcrookerHere is my peep into the greenhouse for the end of June. June is the month of vigorous and rapid growth, so you see the biggest difference between the current month and the previous month. The ornamental plants I raised are now planted in the garden or into containers. All 15 tomato plants are growing and flowering well and most have their first green fruits. The varieties are Sungold and Bloody Butcher.

Does anyone know how much I should be watering my tomatoes? I did three large watering-cans full today, but I don't know if that's enough. Or too much.
When I was watering this morning a small gray and black bird flew down and landed on one of the stakes about a foot away from my hand. Then it flew away again. It was pretty cool!
I've read that some of the tomato plants I have could grow to five to 8 ft tall. That's pretty hard to imagine. But if it happens, I guess I'm going to have to replace the stakes I have now. They're only about 3 ft tall.
So here are the tomatoes I planted:
• Black Krim
• Celebrity
• Roma Plum
• Lemon Boy
• Grape
• Cherokee Purple
I'm curious to see how they come out!
